FAQ

What is Health Travel?

Health Travel, also known as medical travel or medical tourism, is the process of traveling abroad to obtain general medical, dental or cosmetic surgery at costs often significantly lower than those found in the U.S. health care system.

It is estimated that more than 2 million Americans have already traveled abroad for medical care. Experts predict the $20 billion health travel market will explode to more than $40 billion in the next few years, with 6 million U.S. patients per year traveling abroad for health care.

Did you know... Mexico is the top medical travel destination for Americans who seek dental care, weight loss surgery, orthopedic and cardiac care and stem cell procedures in the new, modern hospitals of Tijuana, Mexico City, Merida and other major Mexican cities.More and more people are learning that countries such as Mexico and Costa Rica provide a very high standard of medical care at prices from 30% up to 80% lower than the U.S. health care system, with a level of caring and service that many say are unmatched.

Patient Testimonials

Anabel B. traveled to Guadalajara for LASIK
The hospital is very modern and centrally located. All their equipment is new and high tech. After the surgery I heard from people I met in Guadalajara that this hospital was the best in the City. The doctors spoke perfect English and the staff was very friendly and efficient. I felt very comfortable. Dr. Dalli has a great personality, and made me feel at ease. I would recommend this LASIK package to anyone in the US and Mexico.
